Overview

For over 38 years, LAING Roofing Ltd. has provided full building envelope services, including roofing, sheet metal, waterproofing and wall system installations for commercial, industrial, and large-scale residential projects throughout Western Canada.

We are hiring enthusiastic, full-time Labourers and Apprentice Roofers to assist us in the installation of advanced roofing systems using the latest technologies. Ideally, we are seeking those who have prior construction or roofing experience who are looking for a career to develop into, not just a job. Responsibilities

Tasks

· Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel

· Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings

· Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions

· Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems

· Repair roofing systems

· Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level

· Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools

· Install sheet metal flashings

· Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms

· Cut materials using power tools or by hand

· Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment

· Assist Team Leads and Journeymen in constructing and assembling layers of roofing from insulation to all types of flat roofing membranes (Including TPO, EPDM, SBS, PVC)

· Assist in the installation and/or repair of PVC and vinyl type flat roofs of commercial buildings

· Work on new roofing installations and replacement of previously installed/damaged systems

· Install sheet metal flashings

· Maintain proper safety codes and procedures

· Work as a vital part of a knowledgeable team to make sure that all work is completed in a timely manner
