Responsibilities
Tasks
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment
- Working with adults, youth and their families
- Building positive working relationships with the youth, adults, their families, community members, and other professionals (e.g. social workers, probation officers)
- Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
- Performing youth outreach as needed
- Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting and maintaining appropriate limits
- Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and youth care plans
- Driving clients to and from school, appointments, outings,
- Meet with clients to assess their progress, give support and discuss any difficulties or problems
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs by tracking clients’ behavioral changes and responses to interventions
- Assess and investigate eligibility for social benefits
- Refer clients to other social services or assist clients in locating and utilizing community resources including legal, medical and financial assistance, housing, employment, transportation, daycare and other services
