As a truck driver, you will operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods safely across local, national, and international routes. You will be responsible for vehicle inspections, cargo security, and maintaining accurate trip documentation while working independently or as part of a two-person driving team.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy when required

• Load and unload cargo, including flatbed freight, and secure loads properly

• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections

• Monitor vehicle condition (tires, brakes, lights, refrigeration units, etc.)

• Perform basic preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs

• Maintain accurate driver logbooks, trip reports, and inspection records

• Communicate with central dispatch regarding routes and delivery status

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and transportation laws

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (A) Driver’s Licence

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

• Experience as a truck driver is an asset

• Ability to drive long-haul and cross-border routes

• Knowledge of driver logbooks and inspection reports

• Clean or acceptable driving record (abstract required)

• Physically capable of handling loads up to 50 lbs (23 kg)

• Willingness to travel overnight and for extended periods
